Despite the fact i had planned to have a long offseason away from competing, i have decided to get my national qualification over with..and enter the 2010 eastern usa..oct 9th..in new york city! im not sure if they will be implmenting a welterweight division..so i may enter the lightweight class and in doing so will go above and beyond any conditioning i have put forth previously. although ive not lost a lightweight class in the 8 years ive competed..i still havent gone above the state level or come in completely rock hard. ive never had any assistance in the form of a coach before...and although ill still be managing my training myself..i have teamed up with nationally ranked top 4 welterweight Daniel Rocha (2009 rochester welterwt champ) for this contest prep. the eastern usa is considered one of the top 3 toughest non national amature shows in the country. most of the athletes are national contestants..most have coaches..and use this show as a qualifier. Daniel has assured me between the two of us..i will come in better than ever..and take my class. he is currently 7 weeks out from the npc usa in july(the 2nd top national show -4 pro cards awarded)..and our motivation combined should keep this thing running perfectly till we get it done. starting weight is 185lbs..not sure exact bodyfat but mostlikely 9-10%. im currently 17 weeks out..i have never dieted more than 10 weeks..this time we are taking a longer more planned approach..ive already started..and will post updates periodically.17 weeks to the show.....!
